Hello, I am the face behind Amy Brosinski,
Chartered Professional Accountant!

Welcome

I am thrilled that you have found my page. I hope that I can be of service to you and your business. First, you might want to know a little bit about me, so here is a recap of what brought me to where I am today. I received my Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in January of 2005, which was redesignated to a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in 2014.

Early Interest in Accounting

I instantly knew I wanted to become an Accountant when I took my first accounting course in Grade 11. I demonstrated a strong aptitude for accounting and completed two additional accounting courses in high school, leading my principal to write a letter of recommendation stating that I was β€œpossibly the most capable accounting student to come from Chilliwack Senior.” I referred back to that letter throughout my studies whenever I needed a confidence boost.

Education and CPA Designation

Once I graduated high school, I started the business program at the University of the Fraser Valley. I joined the Co-Operative education program (β€œCo-Op”) to gain valuable work experience while completing my degree. In October of 2000, I was fortunate to get a position at a public accounting firm. I quickly fell in love with the work I was doing and I was lucky enough to have my three-month term extended to an additional four months part-time work while I returned to my full-time studies at the end of my term. I then began looking for another public accounting position and was happy to be offered a part-time position at MNP (previously Edmondson Roper), who was willing to allow me to work part-time while I completed my final year of my University studies.

In April 2002 I graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley with my Bachelor of Business Administration degree and in September of 2002, I started the program to become a Chartered Accountant. I finished the necessary coursework and then began studying for the three-day final exam, which I wrote in September of 2004. In December I learned that I had successfully written the exam and upon completion of the necessary practicum hours in January of 2005, I was awarded my designation of Chartered Accountant.

Public Accounting and Industry Experience

I continued to work with MNP until June of 2008, when I decided to take some time off as I was expecting my second child. In October of 2009, I returned to the workforce when I was presented with an amazing opportunity to work for The Terry Fox Foundation and The Terry Fox Research Institute as their Financial Controller. In 2018, after a relocation of The Terry Fox Foundation's head office, I had another career change. After almost ten years of being away from public accounting and having really missed it, I decided it was time to return to public accounting. For the next four years, I worked for a small accounting office in Chilliwack, BC. In that position, I was responsible for all the corporate year-end accounting and corporate tax returns. I also prepared personal income tax returns and did some bookkeeping.

My Practice Today

After many years of working in both public accounting and industry, I decided to open my own practice to provide a more personal and approachable accounting experience for individuals and small businesses in the Fraser Valley. As a small home-based practice, I am able to offer personalized service, direct communication, and affordable rates while still providing the professional knowledge and experience clients expect from a CPA. I enjoy building long-term relationships with my clients and helping them feel confident and supported when it comes to their accounting and tax needs.

My focus is on working with small businesses and individuals by providing accounting and tax services in a friendly, responsive, and professional manner.

Family and Life Outside of Work

When I’m not working with clients, you’ll usually find me with my family - my supportive husband Mark of twenty-three years, and our two sons, Luke and Drew. We love camping, exploring the outdoors, and enjoying everything the Fraser Valley has to offer.

Thank you to Pam Dykstra of Pam Dykstra Photography for beautifully capturing my family.
